Truck Line Puts Safety First

Troy, Alabama — Wiley Sanders Truck lines, Inc., a Troy, Alabama based hauler since 1959, recently announced their quarterly Safe Driving Award Winners for the first quarter of 2012, and the list of recipients just keeps growing. According to David Nelson, Director of Safety, that’s no accident. “Driver safety is a top priority for Wiley Sanders Truck Lines. Regardless of previous experience, all of our drivers must complete an intensive, four-day training and orientation session before they take to the road. In addition all personnel are safety-trained twice each year at the finest driver training facilities.”

With more an more trucks on the road each year safety training is imperative. The American Trucking Associations reports that for the past 20 years there has been a 47 percent increase in the number of registered large trucks on the roadways, and an 65 percent increase in miles traveled by large trucks. Yet the number of large trucks involved in fatal crashes has declined by 36 percent largely due to driver safety education.

“Our ongoing driver orientation and safety briefings, year-round road patrol and close monitoring of drivers’ logs and safety records make Sanders’ trucks among the safest on the highway,” said Nelson.

Wiley Sanders also backs their safety commitment with an attractive safety bonus program.
